Privacy Policy

CarJam is a free web app made by Unloko897. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and how we protect it. We believe in keeping things simple.

What we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to make the app work:

Anonymous user ID — a randomly generated ID stored in your browser via Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It's used to identify your device in a party session and prevent duplicate rider counts. It is never linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity.
Party session data — party codes, queued songs, and in-session guest names you choose to enter. This data is stored temporarily in Firebase Realtime Database and automatically deleted 24 hours after the party is created.
Usage analytics — anonymous event data (e.g. "party created", "song added") via Firebase Analytics. No personal information is included. This data helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
Bug reports — if you submit a bug report, the message is sent directly to our email. We do not store this in any database.

What we do not collect

Your name, email address, or phone number (unless you voluntarily enter a display name in the app)
Location data
Contact lists or camera access
Payment information (CarJam is completely free)
Any data from your YouTube account

Third-party services

CarJam uses these third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Firebase (Google) — database, authentication, and analytics
YouTube Data API (Google) — video search and playback

YouTube video playback is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. CarJam does not store or redistribute YouTube content.

Data retention

Party data is automatically deleted from Firebase 24 hours after creation. Anonymous authentication tokens persist in your browser until you clear site data. Usage analytics are retained according to Firebase Analytics' default retention period.

Your rights

Since we don't collect personal data tied to your identity, there's nothing to request deletion of. You can clear your browser's site data at any time to remove your anonymous ID and session data.

Children

CarJam is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use of CarJam after changes means you accept the updated policy.
